Meow disassembled a broken MacBook1,1 and reassembled the parts to that MacBook4,1, taking 7 hours.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<!--more-->\n\n\n\n<p>The only problem is charging very slowly (0.2W), but it does charge about 0.75% per hour. Swapping MagSafe boards did not solve the issue. However, the performance is not affected, proven by the Geekbench 3 <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/browser.geekbench.com\/v3\/cpu\/8962191\" target=\"_blank\">result<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Original default Chinese system fonts (Heiti SC &amp; TC) are replaced with Source Han Sans SC &amp; TC, as the Heiti series looks horrible. To replace in Mac OS X Lion (the latest MacBook4,1 supports):<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ol class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Download Chinese <a rel=\"noreferrer noopener\" href=\"https:\/\/github.com\/adobe-fonts\/source-han-sans\/tree\/release#language-specific-otfs\" target=\"_blank\">language-specific OTFs<\/a><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Uncompress them and move the OTFs to <strong>\/System\/Library\/Fonts\/<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Edit <strong>\/System\/Library\/Frameworks\/ApplicationServices.framework\/<br>Versions\/A\/Frameworks\/CoreText.framework\/Versions\/A\/Resources\/DefaultFontFallbacks.plist<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Replace all <strong>STHeitiSC-Light<\/strong> and <strong>STHeitiTC-Light<\/strong> with <strong>SourceHanSansSC-Regular<\/strong> and <strong>SourceHanSansTC-Regular<\/strong><\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Open Disk Utility and repair the system partition permission<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Reboot<\/li>\n<\/ol>\n\n\n\n<p><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Recently Meow bought a used MacBook4,1 at a decent price, but the battery and display panel were broken.
