英國氣象辦公室（Met Office）和愛爾蘭氣象服務（Met Éireann）聯合在2015–16年度開始正式為將影響英國和愛爾蘭的溫帶氣旋（或稱冬季風暴）命名，並在11月10日首次對溫帶氣旋命名Abigail，一般風力必須達到暴風級以上。
